Walter Rethel

Walter Karl Paul Rethel

(Wesel, 15 August 1892[1] - 1977) was a German aircraft designer.

Already during World War I, Rethel worked as an engineer at Kondor. In the early 1920s, he worked briefly for the Nederlandsche Automobiel- en Vliegtuig Onderneming (NATO),[1] and then at Fokker, where he designed the Fokker B.I (a flying boat) and the Fokker F.VII. After this, Rethel worked for Arado Flugzeugwerke in Germany.

Under pressure from the Reichswehr, he was replaced by Walter Blume in early 1932.
