The four Fokker 60s built were stretched versions of the Fokker 50 with a large cargo door at the front right of the fuselage.
The Fokker 60 made its first flight on November 2, 1995.
All four machines went to the Royal Netherlands Air Force and were equipped for transport and personnel/paratrooper transport.
In 2004, two Fokker 60s were converted to MPA, Maritime Patrol Aircraft and served for a number of years in the Netherlands Antilles as Coast Guard.
The Fokker 60 served with the Klu until 2006/2007. After being in storage in Woensdrecht for about 4 years, all four were sold to the Peruvian Navy.
Explanation of the official name:
On the official Type Certificate and Certificate of Registration the Fokker 60 is listed as Fokker F.27-060.
Because many major components of the Fokker F.27 were used for the Fokker 60, the Fokker 60 did not need to be completely recertified.
Hence the official listing is Fokker F.27-060.
