D.XIV

The Fokker D.XIV

Little is known about Fokker's intentions for the D.XIV, developed from the V.25, in 1925.
There was no specific demand from any air force for this experimental fighter designed as a low-wing aircraft.

With its 590 hp Hispano-Suiza engine, the D.XIV could reach a top speed of 274 km/h.

It remained at one prototype.

The aircraft suffered serious stability problems, which led to its crash during a demonstration flight at Schiphol on October 3, 1925, due to severe wing vibrations.

Pilot Hermann Hess was killed in this incident.

The D.XIV could be equipped with armament.
